We went in Friday night not knowing for sure what we'd find when we lifted the cover off her isolette. It almost felt like we were two kids at Christmas - all excited to see if she still had those tubes in her face or not. Obviously, we were more than happy to see this.......
We've also been getting to hold her more often. Now we are able to hold her while she's just wrapped up in a blanket. It is SO much better than kangaroo care because we can actually look at her while holding her. Here's a picture of her when I was holding her - and with her eyes open for once......
So anyway, like I said - she only got a short vacation from the CPAP machine. We were warned that she might have to go back on it soon because she was breathing harder without it and tiring herself out a bit. So, Sunday night, the doctor decided it would be best to put the CPAP tubes back in for awhile longer. I'm not sure when they'll try to wean her off it it again, but I would imagine it won't be too long.
